The project Drive
The Drive is a project’s file space. Site photos, plans, delivery notes, notes: everything stays attached to the project rather than lost in your phone or your inbox.
What usually goes in
Section titled “What usually goes in”- Before and after photos — your best evidence if the work is disputed.
- Plans or drawings sent by the management.
- Delivery notes or supplier invoices tied to the job.
Adding and naming files
Section titled “Adding and naming files”The + button on the Drive card opens the import panel. On a computer you can also drag files straight onto the card.
Every file you pick gets its own row, with a name field already filled in from
the original file name. Rename it there and then — no need to import first and
fix it afterwards. The file extension (.pdf, .jpg…) is shown but cannot be
edited.
On each row, the thumbnail opens the file full screen so you can check it is the right one, and the cross drops it from the import.
Finding a file again
Section titled “Finding a file again”Files are listed from the most recently imported to the oldest. Each row shows its size and date, a click opens the preview, and its menu lets you download, rename or delete it.
The space the project uses is shown at the top of the card.
It is strictly internal
Section titled “It is strictly internal”Drive files are not shared with your clients, and for now there is no way to share them from the Drive.
In other words: put whatever you want in there, including your cost notes or rework photos. Nobody outside your team will see them.
If you need to send a document to a client, use the quote or invoice, which carry their own attachment.
Why it helps
Section titled “Why it helps”Six months later, when someone disputes a job, you find the photo in ten seconds instead of digging through your phone.
It is also what lets a colleague pick up a job without having to call you.
